Excellent value for money, would stay again. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Clean, well presented
Don't let the entrance put you off this is a great Pension and in a perfect location to explore Barcelona. The staff were friendly, warm and informative and the room was very clean and well presented. Additional facilities such as FREE tea, coffee and little buns and space in the fridge!
The entrance/lobby is a bit grim and there's a nasty iron step to navigate with cases before you get into the lobby proper - we're used to Spanish Pensions so it wasn't unusual but could be a problem if you're not strong enough to lift your luggage high enough to clear it. No help is on hand so be aware. Lift is very small - 2 people plus bags max.

Great location and exceptional value
The hostess at reception was very warm, communicated well and was very helpful. The check in process was clear and provided in good time. it made the whole process so easy. she was also a great help when we left to catch the train to the airport. Thanks for a great stay. we will definitely stay there the next time we are in Barcelona

What was the highlight of Pension Ciudadela
Great introduction to Barcelona.
It's a small hotel but the room was bigger than we expected with provision for storing luggage and hanging clothes and such. They also have a pantry where guests can eat with a refrigerator and microwave for use of guests and water and coffee available at all times. The roof deck was also a nice surprise with various seating areas and view of Barcelona. There is also a supermarket and a lot of restaurants nearby.

Exceptional
We loved the extra facilities (communal fridge, coffee & tea, microwave) and when we arrived they moved us into a better room which no extra charge! The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We absolutely loved our stay here and will be back!
